They That Know their God

 Daniel 11:32b

“...but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” (Daniel 11:32b).

The Lord God is known from creation that all His works are good and when He begins, He makes an end (Genesis 1:10,12,18,21,25,31; 1 Samuel 12:6).  He begins by calling a youth to His side, sanctifies and sets him apart for Himself. He delights in empowering him to be able to continually keep his banner flying high amidst the militating and seemingly intimidating programmes and forces of men and spirits in these last days.   Let's now look more into who such young men and women are.

They That know their God

Knowing the Lord begins with knowing Him as the Father, having a Father-son or Father-daughter relationship with Him.  He then becomes YOUR GOD (Jeremiah 7:23; John 1:12).

Knowing their God in our context involves not just this first encounter with Him but one moving on into a closer relationship and knowing His person, attributes, ability, etc. (cons. Isaiah 40:18, 21-22, 25; 57:15; 43:10).  The much you know of God is the extent you trust and depend on him and that in turn determines your strength or how strong you are or will be in the face of challenges or obstacles (cons. Numbers 13:30-33; 14:6-9).  Let’s see some people who knew their God and had special experiences.

Moses Knew his God, he understood his counsel and instructions (Psalms 103:7; Exodus 33:13,18; 34:5-9).  He came to know him as the Merciful and Gracious God and by this knowledge interceded for the children of Israel (Numbers 14:11-12,17-20).  His knowledge of God as ‘I AM THAT I AM’ and “Jehovah” sustained him through to the deliverance of the children of Israel (Exodus 3:13-14; 6:1-3)

David knew his God and understood His workings, and recalling his experiences with Him trusted Him for his next adventure (1 Samuel 17:32-37).

Elisha knew his God and so slept with his two eyes closed in the midst of chariots and horses of the enemy for he trusted in the ability of the God he knew (2 Kings.6:8-18).

The Three Hebrew children knew their God and trusted in His power in the face of the fiery furnace of fire and threat of the world power himself (Dan.3:16-18).

Jesus knew His God and Trusted Him to take him through to the cross, for which he was born (Lk.13:31-33; Jn.8:54,55).

Some knew Him as Father, as Saviour, as I AM that I AM, as Jehovah. Some knew Him as the Man of war and Lord of host.  Some as the Head of principalities and power.  Others as Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient, the Strength of Israel, the Holy One, Righteous Father, etc.  What do you know the Lord as?  Your knowledge of Him in any area will constitute your strength in it.

They Shall Be Strong: (Daniel 11:32b).

“Knowledge is power” they say and this is the time.  They that know the Lord shall indeed be strong.  Goliaths become dogs, giants become bread, Herods become foxes, world rulers become boys before those that know their God (1 Sam.17:43; Numbers 14:9; Lk.13:32; Dan.3:16).  The awareness and knowledge of the Lord, His power, faithfulness, love, attributes, etc. strengthens the mind and heart (cons. Prov.24:5; 1 Cor.12:1-10; Acts 27:21-25,33-36); brings boldness in the presence of intimidations, threats and persecutions (Luke 13:31-33; Acts 5:27-29; Dan.3:16-18; Acts.26:24-28); dispels all forms of weakness in faith and body (Genesis 15:1-6; Romans 4:17-20; Hebrews 11:11); and mountains are leveled to plain (2 Kings 6:15-18).  Youths who know their God are strong in the inside and outside: they are mentally complete, spiritually sound, physically balanced, socially guided and prepared unto the Lord’s work.  Indeed, they that know their God shall be strong and do exploits.

They Shall Do Exploits: (Daniel 11:32b ).

An exploit is a brave and exciting act.  It is coming out of an adventure with startling success.  This should interest the youth seeing they are known to be quite adventurous, therefore your youthful period is a good opportunity to get into exploits that are divinely motivated and enabled because the youths that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.

From the much discussed, we see diverse exploits that the people accomplished among so many are written all over the Scriptures.  The dividing of the Red Sea, the fall of the walls Jericho, the standing still of the sun, the stopping of rain for three and a half years, the stopping of the mouths of lions, the feeding of thousands with few loaves of bread, healing, salvation, deliverance, diverse miracles, etc. are exploits done by the children of God (Hebrews 11:29-25; Matthew 14:15-21; Acts 2:37-41).  Aside those recorded in the Scriptures, God has been doing exploits with His children in every generation all to His glory.   This is the time of the standard bearers.  It is worth noting that He has promised that “The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of Hosts....” (Haggai 2:9).  He has promised the latter rain (Hosea 6:3; Joel 2:23) and that greater works shall you do (John 14:12).  So, from your home, to your school, business places, villages, towns, neighbourhood, anywhere and everywhere, go and do exploits.

The Instrument For Exploits (Hosea 4:6)

The instrument is the Spirit’s Sword, a combination of the operation of the Holy Ghost and the pure word of God (Hebrews.4:12; 1 Corinthians 2:4; Romans 15:19; Acts 10:38).  This remains the means for doing exploits today; the word of God and the Spirit of God.  Any one doing miracles, signs and wonders outside the truth of God’s word is not of God and should never be associated with (Isaiah 8:20; 1 John 4:1).  The word of God must be your NECESSARY food and a part of your daily schedule (as a student, it should be one of your subjects each day and as an apprentice or self-employed person, it must be a conscious daily routine) eaten purposely for nourishment and strength if you must be used for the great exploit (Joshua 1:8; Colossians 3:16).  This is the SWORD of the HOLY SPIRIT for action (Ephesians 6:17; Hebrews 4:12).  The Holy Spirit is the promise and gift of the Father to all that know Him as their God (Joel 2:28,29; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4).  He comes upon you with diverse gifts necessary for whatever exploit that the Lord God has designed to accomplish with you.

Right now this is the time to be empowered for great exploits you can get into the experience right away.
